SVO: To get started, what can you tell us about yourself and your involvement in SVO?
Gengur: I am Gengur, a competitive Shadowverse player who is currently on Team CpV. I have been playing in SVO since the very beginning and with the million dollars announced it gives me more incentive to keep playing.
SVO: What made you get into competitive Shadowverse?
Gengur: Every game I play I want to get to a point where I can enjoy it at the highest level. I didn’t really choose to be competitive in Shadowverse, I just happened to enjoy the game to a point where I am now a competitive player. Even before SVO was announced playing the game competitively was always fun.
SVO: When did you decide to join CpV, and have you been a part of any other teams?
Gengur: I decided to join CpV after Team Excelsior Gaming (ExG) fell apart. Team ExG was the very first team I have been on but sadly things didn’t work out. Community was a big part of my enjoyment of the game so being alone just didn’t feel very right. CpV also had a lot of members I knew and it just seemed like the most logical choice to join them.
SVO: Do you have any advice for new players trying to break into the competitive Shadowverse scene?
Gengur: Don’t be afraid to ask me or anyone else in the Shadowverse community for help. Shadowverse has one of the best communities and we are all pretty nice! 🙂
SVO: Do you have any shoutouts you want to make?
Gengur: Shoutout to my prom date for waiting for me for an hour and of course Team CpV for their support!
SVO: Can you tell us about that? It was fun to see you suiting up as the tournament progressed.
Gengur: Everything was just so funny. During the finals of the first game, you could see me talking to someone on the phone. It was my date’s best friend yelling at me for being really late. I didn’t expect to make it far in the tourney so I didn’t think I would be late to prom! Oh, I also got slapped when I got there.
SVO: Well besides being slapped, did you end up having a good prom?
Gengur: Yeah for sure! One of the best nights of my life. Winning a tournament and going out with a pretty girl couldn’t have been better, to be honest.
